Urban SHADE work on The Naked Scientist

Urban SHADE’s Principal Investigator, Dr Rachel Tolhurst was featured in a The Naked Scientist podcast. She highlighted the research that came out of the data collection of the Urban SHADE project and spoke about the health-based impacts of El Nino on people residing in lower-and-middle-income countries, particularly on those living in urban informal settlements. The podcast has a discussion on various effects of climate change on access of healthcare, maternal and child health, increase in food and water borne diseases, as well as vector borne diseases, among other issues.

The Urban SHADE project works in 11 informal settlements in India, Sierra Leone and Kenya.
